Summary of clip: Jake is chasing Melanie during a lightning/thunderstorm on a beach. We see lightning strike the sand. Melanie starts to run the other way, but Jake pulls her to where the lightning struck where they investigate the liquid-like glowing substance stating"We'll be safe here" Melanie responds, "Says who?" Jake replies with, "Everybody, lightning never strikes the same place twice." Lightning can strike the same place more than once.
Connection of flickclip to the concept: This flickclip would be a way to correct the misconception that lightning can only strike a place once, by showing that it does and can within seconds. This clip should create discussions of what lightning is capable of and the caracteristics of lightning.
Suggestions to teachers:

1. Prior to watching clip: make a list of all the characteristics of lightning (i.e. what it is, what it does to objects it hits, what it can cause, what types of destruction it causes, etc) to get students thinking about lightning.

2. After watching the clip: correct any preconceptions or misconceptions about lightning

3. Revisit the list from before and discuss the 'true' lightning characteristics, properties, and effects.
