Connection of flickclip to the concept: This flickclip is a great way to apply pH and acidity outside the laboratory. Although presented in a somewhat violent manner, it exhibits the serious dangers of acid to humans.

2. You can show this clip and have students research hot springs to see what the typical pH level of the water is. Many cultures enjoy bathing in hot springs, but the pH level of those springs is obviously not harmful to the human body. What must the pH level have been in the hot spring in the clip to kill people?
