Summary of clip: The Angels use some tricks to collect fingerprints and retinal scans of key players for their job.  Using these methods they are able to create a glove with the fingerprints and contacts with the eye scan.  With these new tools they are able to enter a room that is highly protected with access only granted to the people with the right fingerprints and retinal scan. 

Connection of flickclip to the concept: The concept of fingerprints and retinas being different for every person can be used to tie in to DNA.  In criminal investigations, fingerprinting used to be the most reliable way to prosecute a criminal.  These days the big tool is finding DNA to prove guilt.  Retinal scans are beginning to be a popular way to identify people also.     

1. Suggested questions for students when viewing the clip:

a. Why were the Angels collecting these samples?

b. Why did they need the samples from these guys instead of just using their own?

c. What else is there about the human body that is different for every being?

 

2. This clip could be used prior to the cow eye dissection activity.  Students can identify the parts of the eye including the retina.
